The only main thing about Toronto that is really good for both domestic and foreign internationals is higher education. A certificate or diploma in the field of skilled trades, engineering, social worker, chef, firefighter, computer programming, and the list goes on and on, makes perfect sense. And no, I don't mean degrees in political science, philosophy, and other worthless degrees that will not get you a job, except heavy debt loads.

There can be several potential losses and consequences for US and Canadian citizens if they surrender their citizenship and migrate to their original home country of India: 1. Tax Implications: - Giving up US/Canadian citizenship means the individual will no longer be subject to worldwide income taxation in those countries. - However, the individual may still have tax obligations in India on their global income, assets, and transfers. - There can be complex tax implications and potential double taxation issues to navigate. 2. Social Security/Pension Eligibility: - US and Canadian citizens build up eligibility for social security and pension benefits over their working years. - Renouncing citizenship may impact their ability to access these benefits, depending on totalization agreements between countries. 3. Healthcare Coverage: - Losing US/Canadian citizenship means losing access to government-sponsored healthcare programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Canada's universal healthcare. - The individual would need to rely on India's healthcare system, which may have different coverage, costs, and quality of service. 4. Travel Restrictions: - US and Canadian passports provide visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to many countries worldwide. - Giving up that citizenship means the individual would need to obtain an Indian passport, which may have more travel restrictions and visa requirements. 5. Asset/Property Ownership: - There can be challenges in maintaining or transferring ownership of assets and properties across borders. - The individual may face tax implications, legal hurdles, or restrictions on certain types of assets. 6. Family/Personal Ties: - Renouncing US/Canadian citizenship may sever certain familial, social, and professional connections in those countries. - Reintegrating into Indian society after years or decades abroad can also present personal and cultural adjustments. The decision to give up US or Canadian citizenship is a major one with long-term financial, legal, and personal implications. Careful research and planning are advised to understand the full scope of potential losses and ramifications.

Intolerance and religious divide lmao😂. We have been living in harmony since independence meanwhile indians in Canada are not assimilating and are getting abused by every Canadian. There is rampant racism and xenophobia against Indians there. Freedom of speech and press is better in Canada?? Trudeau literally froze the bank account of the truckers who protested against him . He's literally a faux liberal who said that he admires China and dictatorship 😂

You are a pseudo "Secular" who wants to prove that you are religiously tolerant. Why don't you then live in a country like Pakistan n imagine what Hindus are facing there because of religion. Because you've not faced racism because you are a Hindu. Wait until this percentage goes up. That community has got so much solidarity they don't need your support anymore.. 33% of the world is Muslims, where will you as a Hindu flee once this percentage goes up and the democracy there is taken away because the demographics have changed? Your ignorance is showing in the way you talk about the fake farmers protest. You love the country as long as you don't have to go back lol. Hypocrisy at its best

Actually India is great place to live in tier 2/3 cities now with much better connectivity of roads, very cheap WiFi,good and cheap healthcare roads ,solar, good staff IE cook, maid, driver etc. One can even stay in smaller towns around Mumbai,Pune, Bangaluru, Mysore,Goa, Baroda etc. India is quite a different place now than what it was a couple of decades ago.

I really appreciate this comparison. It has helped me a lot. Being Indian, I prefer my life to be happy every moment, and I am an outgoing person. So, I was looking for this kind of information. My friends living in Canada also update me about these things, which makes me feel more disappointed. Six months without going out or enjoying outdoor activities is too much for me. I do agree that there are pros and cons everywhere, but what I need is an Indian lifestyle in a foreign place.

  • @AaronMetallion

Great video, and completely valid points! : ) There's a large subjective component to this experience. Because I've been in Canada for 13 years, and fully acclimated, but I thought I was in depression for 8 years. I took a very long trip to India and realized I wasn't depressed at all. So much of the depression was driven by financial instability / drain in Canada. I've barely been able to save in Ontario with no family, no generation wealth, single income household... I think twice whenever I buy fruits here, I don't eat out, I have to be frugal, and I and most youth can not see a future in Canada. Homes are absolutely unaffordable and even if you manage to get one it's a continuous liability - maintenance and property taxes being as high as rent. In India I felt so relaxed, I could afford everything, ate a lot of fruits, bought whatever I wanted, even homes are reasonable and I got a 3br condo in a gated complex with a pool & gym for 80k$, in the GTA the average is 800k-1M$. I'm from Goa, so I guess it's a bit more progressive compared to many other parts of India. I earn remotely so the huge advantage is earning in dollar, and converting it to INR. I'm also a hermit and an introvert, so when I'm at home, or at the beach, all the issues of India fades into the background. Me working, relaxing, and creating - be it at home in Canada, or India makes little difference until I leave the house. The only difference is Canada bleeds me dry when it comes to rent, insurance, taxes, vs India where I don't feel like I'm being bled to simply exist on this planet. I did the math on an excel spreadsheet, and 1 year of expenses in Canada, lasts 7-8 years in India. Which means every one year of expenses, buys me 6-7 years of free time... free time to live life, come up with business ideas, enjoy a better quality of life. I guess some have done well for themselves in Canada, but for me personally what I've saved up with be gone in 2-3 years if I lose my job. The issues I have with India is there's no civic sense, garbage is everywhere, air is polluted indeed (less in Goa, but I hate seeing garbage, rubber, and plastic burned openly in villages). Regarding women safety, Canada doesn't feel very safe either. Once when I was coming back late form university, a homeless druggy was molesting a student (at Hamilton). I would always stay back because the school computers had Adobe Creative Suite, and it costed 1000$ , so I'd do my homework and return late at night. I had music turned up high, and initially thought it was a couple making out. Then realized she was crying / screaming, and no one was around to help. Threw him off her, walked her to the bus stop, and made sure she left. Worst part is you risk an assault charge for defending yourself with a knife or pepper spray, or these criminals get anonymity, because Canada treats their criminals so well. Just watch Canadian true crime... You'd be surprised what horrible things happen in the GTA. Like a man who kidnapped and r*ped a child in GTA, and after that went to home depot, bought a hack saw, cut the child up, and packed her body into the seat cushion of the car. You probably didn't hear about it, because this is how Canadian media is. Shit barely gets coverage, and Criminals get lesser offenses. My cousin's boyfriend's dad was murdered in Canada, shot when he was leaving his home in the ghetto part of Toronto, and the criminal got 2nd degree murder, with probation and a lesser charge. There are so many registered sex offenders around you, and you wouldn't know about it until there's a repeat offense. The problem is more perceptible in India because of the gendered attitudes itself so it's feels more ingrained in culture, vs the west.
